Experience:
Johan completed his degree in Geology at Stellenbosch University in 1985. He continued his studies at Stellenbosch and Port Elizabeth Universities where he completed his doctorate in Geology in 1996.
He joined the Geological Survey of South Africa in 1989 as geologist based in Port Elizabeth. Whilst completing his MSc and PhD, Johan has been directly involved in numerous research projects, which included a thesis on the distribution of heavy minerals in natural river systems and a study on river system evolution. In 1994, he took up the position as Principle Geologist at the Council for Geosciences in Port Elizabeth employed as a consulting geologist, consulting to various mining companies in southern and central Africa.
During 1998, he joined up with Trans Hex Ltd responsible for the mining and exploration at the Reuning projects. Since 2000, he has been managing Creo Design.
He is registered member of the SA Council for Natural Scientific Professions and has regularly contributed articles to the international scientific journals.

Carlo Fourie
Professional GIS Practitioner / Geologist

Experience:
Application of GIS and remote sensing in the mineral exploration industry to guide mineral exploration efforts and reporting to clients. Furthemore, these tools are used in the environmental field, to do landcover / landuse mapping and to evaluate land potential. Additionally, Carlo has experience in ore body modelling and other tasks related to the geological field i.e. outcrop mapping, logging, geological interpretation and drilling supervision.

Victoria Jansen
Field Geologist
Qualifications:
BSc Applied Geology
Experience:
General field work and environmental management, operational planning in various fields, geochemical sampling and field geological mapping; diamond drill planning and supervision, drill core logging, database management and quality control of analytical sample results.
Vicky is currently enrolled at University of the Western Cape for Hons in Geology.
Focus areas:
Nickel and manganese exploration, environmental and rehabilitation management, data processing and representation, database management.

Carel van der Merwe
Field Geologist

Experience:
Carel has been involved as an exploration geologist since 1964 with numerous major mining companies covering on- and offshore diamonds; coal, copper and gold exploration. He managed the exploration of a number of deposits that was investigated and developed under his supervision, including copper, uranium and coal. Under his guidance a number of smaller ventures has been founded and successfully developed, involving clients such as Shell Coal, Sasol, AngloVaal, Rand Mines and Rio Tinto. Prospecting has taken him to Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Colorado, Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, Madagascar, Malawi, Mali, Mozambique, Namibia, New Mexico, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe. His extensive knowledge on exploration geology, as well as supervision on drilling programs, makes him a valuable addition to the Creo Design Team.
